Thea Ennen & Dan Rumsey

February 18, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Singer-songwriter, Thea Ennen, is an artist in every sense of the word. Her self-produced album, “All Aboard”, garnered the Minnesota Music Award’s Best Folk Recording of the year. Praised as a prime songwriter by reviewers nationwide for her rootsy and thought provoking offerings, Ennen’s topics range from mytho-poetic meditation, to human drama and stories captured in melodic snapshots. Her piano-driven melodies have been compared with Joni Mitchell and Tori Amos, which Dirty Linen Magazine says are “…bundled together with a lyrical perspective sharp enough to cut.” Dan Rumsey has been playing the guitar since 1972. He also gets around nicely on the piano, mandolin, and harmonica. He’s been a 2 time finalist at the Minnesota Folk Festival, taking 3rd place in 2004, has performed at the Matawah Folk Festival, The Resophonic Guitar Festival at the Cedar Cultural Center, was a 3rd place finalist at The River Falls Roots and Bluegrass Festival, 2015, and a finalist at The Great River Folk Festival in LaCrosse, Wisc. 2015. He has 2 CD’s out and a 3rd on the way. Expect soulful singing, poignant songwriting, exquisite covers, and really sweet & bluesy guitar playing when listening to this guy.
